The 25‑Mile Walk for a Bible

Isaiah 40:31, 1 Timothy 4:12 (NIV)

A 15‑year‑old girl named Mary Jones saved her pennies for six years to buy a Bible. When she finally had enough, she walked 25 miles barefoot to the nearest town, only to be told the Bibles were already promised to others. She refused to give up, and her tears moved a pastor to give her one of the last copies—sparking a movement that led to the founding of the British and Foreign Bible Society, which distributed millions of Bibles around the world.
