Stephen's Final Words

Stephen was the first Christian martyr. He was filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke boldly about Jesus. The religious leaders dragged him out of the city and stoned him. As they threw stones, Stephen prayed, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." He saw Jesus standing at the right hand of God before he died. Courage can look like forgiveness and a peaceful death—trusting Jesus to the very end.
