The Unforgiving Servant
Matthew 18:21-35 (NIV)
A king decided to settle accounts with his servants. One servant owed him ten thousand bags of gold—an impossible debt. The servant begged for mercy, and the king was moved with compassion. He canceled the entire debt and let him go. But that same servant found a fellow servant who owed him a few coins. He grabbed him by the throat and demanded payment. When the king heard about this, he was furious and handed the unforgiving servant over to jailers until he could pay back everything. Jesus said, "This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart." You have been forgiven much—so forgive others freely.
