The Empty Tomb

On the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other women went to the tomb, carrying spices to anoint Jesus' body. They wondered, "Who will roll away the stone?" But when they arrived, the stone was already rolled away. An angel told them, "Don't be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here." The women ran to tell the disciples, but they didn't believe. Peter ran to the tomb, looked in, and saw the strips of linen lying there. He went away, wondering what had happened. Hope is not lost—Jesus is alive!
