The Woman Anoints Jesus with Perfume
Luke 7:36-50 (NIV)
A woman in Simon the Pharisee's house came to Jesus with an alabaster jar of expensive perfume. She wept, washed Jesus' feet with her tears, wiped them with her hair, and poured the perfume on them. Simon thought, "If this man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him—she is a sinner." Jesus told a parable about two debtors—one owed much, the other little. Both were forgiven. He asked, "Which one will love him more?" Simon replied, "The one who was forgiven more." Jesus turned to the woman and said, "Your sins are forgiven. Your faith has saved you; go in peace." Grace is not earned—it's received through faith.
